September 4th Aerification Is completed! This is my favorite aerification we do because it signals the end of the 100 days battle of managing bentgrass in Georgia.
The summer of 2013 has been successful one due to the management practices for preventative maintenance and the role it plays to provide high quality playing conditions and optimal growing conditions.
Preventative
maintenance is an integral part of successful golf course management. Aeration is an extremely important maintenance practice. Although it
results in a temporary disruption of the green, aeration improves water
penetration into the soil, reduces soil compaction, stimulates turf grass root
growth for a healthier plant, helps control thatch build-up, and improves
overall growing conditions.
