Welcome

Welcome, this site will be devoted to providing information about the ongoing maintenance issues that take place at The Creek Club . As this site is developed, content will be added that demonstrates things that range from course care to comprehensive details about agronomic procedures. I hope that this will become a useful tool in communicating things that are taking place on the golf course. I will try to use the blog to explain how and why we do some of the things we do on the golf course.

Zoysia Fairway 5/8 Aerification and Verticutting.

We have completed the Aerification process on all 45 Acres of Fairways and Tees and are open for play today.  We were very fortunate to be closed for the whole process.  It was a challenging 5 days for everyone and I am very appreciative of the staff for their tremendous efforts!
Aerification is one of those tools we use because it reduces organic matter (thatch), reduces soil compaction, Increases air exchange in the soil, water infiltration, and help promotes deeper rooting.

We aerified with 5/8 tine at 1.7 mph.

This is the next day on the 5th hole after the whole Aerification, core processing, verticutting , blowing,  mowing and Irrigation cycle was completed.
