Welcome

Welcome, this site will be devoted to providing information about the ongoing maintenance issues that take place at The Creek Club . As this site is developed, content will be added that demonstrates things that range from course care to comprehensive details about agronomic procedures. I hope that this will become a useful tool in communicating things that are taking place on the golf course. I will try to use the blog to explain how and why we do some of the things we do on the golf course.

July venting with 3/8 Solid tine

Wiedenmann verticutting Zorro Zoysia Fairways

With the course closed for play we took the opportunity to Vertical mow the zoysia fairways. Vertical mowing is beneficial in many ways: it removes thatch where water and nutrients may get hung up, promotes more vertical growth which in turn improves the lie of a golf ball also aids in helping the fairways be firmer and drain a little quicker.

Here is the Wiedenmann Super 500 sweeper in action at a half inch depth

Drainage work on 9 fairway.

Today we are adding drainage above 9 fairway bunker.  This is a collection area that is holding water in the thatch layer.

Water management as the heat returns.

The next 5 days are calling for Dry weather with highs in the upper 90s. We sprayed our bentgrass greens this morning with Revolution and all zoysia this afternoon with Dispatch. This will help with water management , LDS greens and fairways hotspot.
